Making Music in the West Midlands

Making Music West Midlands is part of Making Music (The National Federation of Music Societies) which represents and supports amateur and semi-professional music groups of all genres throughout the UK. A regional committee ensures that our 198 member groups can make the most of their membership and flourish despite the many attractions of modern life that compete with the performance of live music. And we are very fortunate in having the services of Micaela Schmitz, our Regional Development Officer (RDO) sponsored by Arts Council England to support this work.

The role of the Regional Committee is to assist the Making Music Board in the creation, development and implementation of national policies and to help provide the best environment for its local member groups to thrive and to benefit from their Making Music membership. Committee members also act as 'visitors' to the groups, you can view a visitor list for each committee member in the details below.
Our website includes Micaelas weekly 'blog' and monthly e-bulletin, the regional newsletter, a concert diary, and a chamber music diary. We support music makers of all types and backgrounds. If you are new to Making Music, have a look at our member groups and their events and discover what a fund of music is being produced in our region. Go and listen or, better still, get involved. If you are interested in joining the committee please contact me for an informal chat. You could also join us as an observer at our next meeting.
